Civilian Welfare

Civilian Welfare Programs are established and operated to serve the needs and interests of all Federal employees on DOD installations.

What is the Civilian Welfare Fund (CWF)?

Civilian Welfare Fund (CWF) is generated from money received through the Post Restaurant Fund (PRF). The PRF is funded by the fees received from Sodexo for operation of the cafeterias on center. It is also funded from the income derived from the vending machines and sundry stores located through out the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC).

What is the Civilian Welfare Council (CWC)?

The Civilian Welfare Council manages the CWF, and consists of 11 members that represent organizations from all over the center.   Members of the CWC are appointed by their respective organizations and serve as the voice of that organization, and ultimately represent the interests of all employees served by the Civilian Welfare Fund (CWF).

The council meets quarterly.  They annually review all request for funding and set the budget for the following fiscal year. Requests for funding are solicited beginning in early spring of each year for funding in the following fiscal year (i.e. Spring 2011 for FY 2012 funding).

The CWC  funds activities such as the Fun Fest, Fitness Day, Family Day at Kings Island, Discounted Ohio State Fair tickets, Live Lunches, Armed Services Birthdays, Condolences, Directorate annual picnics and parties and much more!
