Deployment Support

Deployment support is available to military members and civilian deployers in preparation for deployment and any issue that may arise during the deployment cycle.   Support is also provided to spouses, children and other family members.  Resources, referrals, literature, and videos are available in an effort to prepare our deployers and their families for the impact deployment has on their family dynamics.  Individual and group appointments can be made by contacting the FAP office.

The Deployed Family Support Group (DFSG) includes employees of DFAS and DSCC who offer support, advice and encouragement to family members and/or friends of service men and women who are deployed in a war zone or stationed far from home.  The group welcomes all veterans, military retirees, family or friends who would like to help support our troops in uniform.

The DFSG meets once a month during the lunch hour, from noon to 12:30, on the second Wednesday of each month in Buildings 20 and 21.

Adopt a Family MemberAs a part of its mission the DFSG supports our deployed troops and civilians by preparing and distributing care packages and cards to identified loved ones and co-workers serving our country.  The DFSG maintains a list of service members currently in theater and makes an attempt to send care packages at holiday times, i.e. Christmas, Memorial Day or 4th of July.  The DFSG encourages associates, units or offices across DSCC to sponsor an individual on the list of deployed service members and civilians.

As a member of the DFSG, the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) and Deployment, Support, and Reintegration office provides assistance to the group in matters of referrals, literature, deployment materials and requesting legal guidance on group activities.
